📋 Before You Start: Please read this agreement carefully before downloading, installing, or using GoldPal. Downloading or using the App constitutes your acceptance of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
⚠️ Investment Risk Warning: GoldPal provides only personal gold holding tracking and profit monitoring tools. Gold price data and profit figures displayed are for reference only and do not constitute any investment advice. Gold investment carries market volatility risks. Please evaluate risks carefully before making any decisions. The developer is not liable for any investment losses.

Agreement Parties & Scope

These Terms of Service ("this Agreement") constitute a legal agreement between you and GoldPal developer ("we" or "us") regarding your use of the GoldPal iOS application ("the App").

This Agreement applies to all users who download and use GoldPal from the Apple App Store, including both free and Pro subscription users. The App's Privacy Policy is an integral part of this Agreement and has the same legal effect.

App Features

GoldPal provides the following main features (actual features are subject to in-app availability):

📒 Gold Ledger (Free)

Create multiple gold ledgers to record holding information including name, weight, purchase price, date, channel, location, and purchase receipt photos.

📈 Profit Tracking (Free)

Automatically calculate holding valuation, profit/loss, premium rate, and more based on real-time gold prices (spot prices), supporting multiple currencies (CNY, USD, HKD, JPY, etc.) and weight units (grams, ounces, taels, mace, ryō, etc.).

🔢 Gold Calculator (Free)

Provides auxiliary calculation tools for gold weight and price conversion.

📚 Gold Knowledge (Free)

Provides basic educational content on gold investment for learning purposes only.

✨ GoldPal Pro PRO

Unlock premium features through App Store In-App Purchase subscription, including but not limited to: unlimited ledger count, historical gold price charts, advanced data export, home screen widgets, and more (specific benefits are subject to the subscription page description).

☁️ iCloud Sync (Optional)

Sync and backup ledger data across devices through your personal iCloud account.

Eligibility & Account

To use the App, you must meet the following conditions:

  • You must be at least 17 years old (App Store Finance category age requirement)
  • You must have a valid Apple ID and comply with Apple Terms of Service
  • You must have full civil capacity; if you are a minor, you must use the App under supervision of a legal guardian
  • You must comply with applicable laws and regulations in your region when using the App
The App does not require account registration. All your data is stored locally on your device with no login state management.

Pro Subscription Terms

GoldPal Pro offers the following subscription plans through Apple App Store (specific prices are subject to App Store display, varying by region and currency):

Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew. Renewal fees will be charged to the payment method linked to your Apple ID.

Free Trial (if available)

Free trials may be available in some regions or during promotional periods. After the trial ends, if not cancelled, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription.

How to Cancel

Go to iPhone Settings → Tap your name → Subscriptions → Find GoldPal → Cancel Subscription. After cancellation, Pro benefits remain active until the end of the current subscription period.

Refund Policy

Subscription fees are collected by Apple. Refund requests must be processed through Apple's official channel: reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot directly process refunds.

Restore Purchases

On devices with the same Apple ID, you can restore your existing Pro subscription through the "Restore Purchases" feature in the App without paying again.

Important: Please review subscription plans, prices, and auto-renewal rules carefully before subscribing. Once subscribed, fees are collected by Apple. We cannot provide refunds or negotiate prices on your behalf.

Gold Price Data & Disclaimer
⚠️ Gold price data displayed in the App is for reference only. We do not guarantee real-time accuracy or completeness and it should not be used as a basis for actual trading.
  • Gold price data comes from public third-party market data APIs and may have delays (typically 15 minutes to several hours).
  • Actual transaction prices (e.g., bank, jewelry store prices) differ from the spot prices shown in the App, which is normal.
  • If network errors occur, the App will display the most recent cached gold price with a timestamp.
  • Profit data is estimated based on historical prices and does not represent your actual realizable returns.
  • Gold investment is affected by market supply/demand, geopolitics, exchange rate fluctuations, and other factors. Assess risks yourself.
We are not liable for: Investment losses from data delays, errors, or omissions; losses from gold price fluctuations; or any losses from trading based on App data.

User Conduct

When using the App, you agree to the following conduct rules:

You may:

  • Use the App for legitimate personal gold asset management and record-keeping
  • Share ledger screenshots generated by the App for personal social sharing
  • Provide suggestions and feedback for App improvements

You may NOT:

  • Decompile, reverse engineer, crack, or modify the App
  • Attempt to bypass Pro subscription verification to access paid features
  • Use the App for any illegal purposes, including but not limited to money laundering, tax evasion, etc.
  • Use the App as a professional financial investment advice tool for others
  • Copy, distribute, or commercialize the App's UI design, code, or content
  • Interfere with the App's normal operation or service stability

Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including but not limited to: application code, UI design, icons, animations, copy, and brand identity (GoldPal), are protected by copyright and related intellectual property laws, and are owned by or licensed to the GoldPal developer.

This Agreement grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable personal use license to download and use the App on Apple devices you own. This license may not be transferred to any third party.

Gold holding data you enter into the App (such as name, price, weight, etc.) belongs to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over this data.

Service Changes & Termination

Service Changes: We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, including but not limited to: adjusting free feature scope, modifying Pro subscription benefits, discontinuing maintenance of specific features, etc. Significant changes will be announced in advance through App Store update notes.

Price Changes: Pro subscription prices may change due to Apple pricing policies or our operational needs. Price changes will take effect at your next subscription cycle, and we will announce in advance in the App or App Store update page.

App Removal: In extreme cases (such as policy requirements, force majeure), the App may be removed from the App Store. After removal:

  • The installed App can continue to be used on your device (features limited to that version)
  • iCloud sync service will stop
  • Paid subscription fees will stop being charged (auto-renewal disabled)
  • Local data is unaffected; you can back up data using the export feature

Data Backup Recommendation: We strongly recommend regularly exporting data as CSV using the "Ledger Export" feature as a local backup to prevent data loss from device damage, accidental deletion, or service discontinuation.

Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or inability to use the App, including but not limited to data loss, profit loss, or investment losses, even if we have been informed of the possibility of such damages.

We are not liable for:

  • Data loss: Ledger data loss due to device failure, system upgrades, app uninstallation, or disabled iCloud sync
  • Data errors: Calculation discrepancies due to user input errors
  • Price delays: Inaccurate gold prices due to network issues or data source delays
  • Investment losses: Losses from investment decisions made based on App data
  • iCloud failures: Data sync failures due to Apple iCloud service interruptions or faults
  • System compatibility: Feature incompatibilities due to iOS version upgrades (we will do our best to adapt)
  • Force majeure: Service interruptions due to earthquakes, floods, war, network infrastructure failures, government regulations, etc.

The App is provided "AS IS" without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Third-Party Services & Links

The App may include the following third-party services or links:

Apple Services

StoreKit (subscription payment), CloudKit (iCloud sync), Vision Framework (OCR), MapKit (location selection), WidgetKit (widgets). These services are subject to Apple Terms of Service.

Gold Price Data APIs

The App obtains gold market data through third-party data APIs. These services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not guarantee their data accuracy or availability.

Social Media Links

Links to Xiaohongshu, Douyin, and other platforms in the App will redirect to external apps or websites, which are subject to their respective terms of service.

We are not responsible for third-party services' or platforms' content, privacy practices, or terms of use.

Agreement Changes

We may revise this Agreement from time to time to reflect legal changes, feature updates, or operational adjustments. Revised agreements will be posted on this page with links updated in the App's "Settings → About".

If significant changes occur (e.g., fundamental changes to billing or data handling), we will notify through App Store update logs and display prompts when the App launches.

Continuing to use the App constitutes acceptance of the revised agreement. If you disagree, please stop using the App and cancel your Pro subscription (if any).

Applicable Law & Dispute Resolution

The formation, validity, interpretation, performance, and dispute resolution of this Agreement are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (or applicable local laws where you are located).

Any disputes arising from this Agreement should first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with the competent people's court or apply for arbitration.

Before contacting us, we recommend first describing your issue through the "Contact Developer" feature in the App. Most issues can be resolved through communication.
